24 hours seminars. Full year.

Available to students enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Social Science or Graduate Diploma of Arts.

A program of specialised reading and study and training in the design and execution of an archaeological research project, is undertaken prior to the production of a dissertation of 8,000-10,000 words on an approved topic.

Learning Objectives:

  1. become conversant with advanced archaeological theory and method;
  2. develop appropriate levels of skills for the design and execution of an archaeological research project;
  3. design and undertake an independent research project in archaeology;
  4. produce a scholarly dissertation on the chosen topic.

Assessment by seminar participation and presentation (20%); thesis (80%).
