Methodology in Womens Studies

Prerequisites: Permission of Director, Centre for Women's Studies
13 lecture/seminars or the equivalent in mixed mode delivery. First or second semester and flexible delivery.
An interdisciplinary survey of research methodologies in womens studies. Students examine theoretical issues in feminist methodologies and study examples of womens studies research in history, art/literary criticism, education, the health and social sciences.
Learning Objectives:
- to develop and demonstrate understanding of current research methodologies in womens studies;
- to apply a methodological framework to analysis of a relevant issue in womens studies.
Assessment by research paper (3,000 words) (60%); critical thinking logbook (40%).
