This subject introduces the student to the general patterns of world tourism and transportation taking a broad overview of international tourism developments, trends, product and transportation systems. Within the context of worldwide travel geography; the environmental, historical, cultural and political resources are reviewed.

Learning Objectives:

  1. understand the structure, nature and functioning of the global tourism system;
  2. develop a knowledge and understanding of tourism product world wide;
  3. develop a knowledge of the locations and resources of the tourism regions of the world;
  4. understand the structure, nature and functioning of the global transportation system.
