Research Reporting and Criticism

26 contact hours. First and second semester.

Staff: Dr G Hamlin.

Techniques in critical reading of scientific articles. Weekly research seminars will analyse the scientific literature in physiology, pharmacology and related disciplines. Students will be required to conduct critical readings of scientific articles and present a verbal report to other members of the class who will be encouraged to actively participate in the analysis.

Learning Objectives:

  1. critical analysis skills as applied to scientific literature;
  2. scientific verbal communication skills.

Assessment by assignments during seminar sessions.
