Isolated Practice

20 tutorials, 30 hours practicals. Flexible delivery. First and second semester.

Available to registered nurses with concurrent employment in isolated practice setting or documented access to concurrent clinical in isolated practice area.

This subject includes isolated practice; context of practice/legislative requirements; pharmacokinetics; client assessment and practice; client education, communication and collaboration.

Learning Objectives:

  1. achieve competence to practice under the isolated practice area, drug therapy, protocols;
  2. maintain contemporary knowledge and skills pertaining to drug therapy;
  3. provide culturally appropriate information to clients and carers about drug actions and interactions.

Assessment by case study/presentations, examination.
