Full year. One year full-time, two years part-time.

Available to suitably qualified graduates in nursing, approved by the Head of School of Nursing Sciences.

This subject consists of research undertaken for preparation of a thesis for an Honours degree. Seminars accompany the research process.

Learning Objectives:

  1. demonstrate ability to formulate a research question;
  2. carry out a literature search and critical review of the literature;
  3. devise a research proposal appropriate to the research question;
  4. collect data based on the research proposal;
  5. analyse data, demonstrating use of appropriate methods;
  6. demonstrate ability to evaluate results critically;
  7. report findings through presentation of a scholarly thesis.

Assessment by proposal submission (15%); presentation of results (15%); examination of thesis (70%).
