This subject aims to broaden and deepen the understanding and appreciation of interpersonal processes in professional practice. It explores interactions between health professionals and clients, health professionals and health professionals and health professionals and other members of the health care team.

Learning Objectives:

  1. recognise personal style of communicating with clients;
  2. consider the effect of cultural differences on health professionals-client interactions;
  3. explore processes of promoting effective group cohesion and performance in the health care setting;
  4. understand the process of interactional behaviour between health professionals and carers;
  5. understand the principles of bereavement counselling/grief support, handling feelings in self and others, mobilising resources to enhance coping.

On-course assessment (100%).
