Experiencing Music

13 hours seminar presentations in block mode, 100 hours of industry placement. Full year.

Available to BMus students.

This subject will involve work experience in the community in an area relevant to the student’s first study area. Students will undertake a minimum number of hours of work experience and present a seminar report on their experience and findings.

Learning Objectives:

  1. gain direct knowledge of the employment opportunities available in the music industry;
  2. develop an in-depth understanding of the workings of a commercial music enterprise;
  3. develop contacts with employers and others in the music workforce;
  4. develop various business and industry skills.

Assessment by 40 minute seminar presentation on the work experience undertaken (50%); presentation of a research journal outlining the work experience (50%).
