Marketing Communications

Prerequisites: 18 level 1 units or permission of HOS

26 lectures, 12 tutorials. Second semester (Townsville campus); first semester (Cairns campus).

The subject deals with the concept, practice and environment of integrated marketing communications, including in-depth consideration of each part of the promotion mix.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to enable students to communicate with a range of internal and external audiences in oral and written format;
  2. to understand the fundamentals of promotion and integrated marketing information;
  3. to recognise the elements of effective visual communications;
  4. to examine face-to-face communication in the marketing context;
  5. to understand media advertising;
  6. to examine the ever-growing practice of sales promotion;
  7. to consider other supportive tools of marketing communication.
