(For students completing the Master of Science degree in Tropical Marine Ecology and Fisheries Biology by research and coursework). Full year.
After completing the minor project and seminar satisfactorily, candidates will undertake an independent research investigation on a topic which must be approved by the Course Coordinator and the appropriate Head of School. The independent project will normally stem from the minor project, but this will not be obligatory. Candidates will be expected to complete a small thesis of sufficient quality to satisfy the examiners.
Assessment is by thesis (at least one external examiner).
