Jessup International Law Moot

Prerequisites: Level 3 LA subjects with preference given to students with mooting experience or are enrolled in LA4012

Self-directed research over one semester relating to the Jessup International Law Moot Competition. Second semester.

Available to LLB students. Quota of 8 students, with preference given to fourth and final year students and students with previous mooting experience or who have completed or are enrolled in LA4012.

Advanced research and analysis in a topic in International Law, development of skills in presenting oral arguments and preparation of written memorials setting out detailed legal arguments in relation to the Jessup International Law Moot Competition.

Learning Objectives:

  1. development of students’ research, writing and oral presentation skills.

Assessment by preparation of written memorial and participation in the Moot Competition, or other assessable work as required, on a Pass/Fail basis, credited towards the degree at the students’ mean grade point average.
