Japanese 2A: Basic

A number of intensive workshops and consultation sessions during the semester. No regular weekly classes. Second semester.

The subject aims at developing communicative skills needed when expressing future intentions and obligations, discussing comparisons, describing past experiences and acts of giving and receiving and explaining reasons. Students will continue working with authentic language material, such as Japanese TV dramas and documentaries and short stories. An additional 50 of the most frequently used Kanji characters will also be introduced in this subject.
Assessment by oral/aural and written examinations: listening (25%); speaking (25%); reading (25%); writing (25%).
