Available to Advanced Diploma of Communications students.

This subject has been designed to accommodate the cultural interests of Indigenous audiences as expressed through music production and recording.

Learning Objectives:

  1. identify and use wild sound, live sound and composed sound;
  2. develop editing and production techniques;
  3. understand music rights acquisition;
  4. develop the capacity to select and prepare music and musicians for studio recording;
  5. the ability to prepare appropriate studio or location facilities for music recording;
  6. the ability to undertake the basic technical processes associated with recording music;
  7. The ability to archive, copy, promote, program and broadcast music.

Assessment by on-campus music assignment (40%); on-campus worksheets and practicals (20%); off-campus assignment (20%); promotion assignment (10%); attendance and participation (10%).
