This subject is designed to provide students with a practical overview of single camera production within Indigenous communities. It involves learning the basic technology and techniques, and the basic processes of the selecting of suitable creative material, research, scripting, preproduction, location production, editing and presenting a program to an audience.

Learning Objectives:

  1. the ability to understand and operate basic television technology;
  2. the ability to isolate an idea or issue and undertake the research necessary to convert the material into a producible form;
  3. the ability to undertake the necessary production management activities to ensure the production is possible;
  4. the ability to undertake crew roles for practical single camera location production;
  5. the ability to undertake appropriate post production.

Assessment by on-campus written/video assignment (40%); on-campus worksheets and practicals (20%); off-campus assignment (20%); attendance and participation (20%).
