Available to Diploma of Communications students.

This subject will build on what was taught in Radio 1. Students will learn how to produce and present complex magazine programs, research and record discussions and interviews, write basic radio news and produce radio promotions. They will work with digital field recorders and digital editing equipment. The main form of assessment will be a live to air radio program broadcast from the Centre on the local Indigenous station 4K1G.

Learning Objectives:

  1. research and produce or present a radio magazine program including interviews and information relevant to their Indigenous audience;
  2. record music and performance in the field;
  3. do complex interviews;
  4. produce or present a live discussion;
  5. edit on digital and analogue equipment;
  6. write radio news bulletins;
  7. write and mix a pre-recorded promotion;
  8. operate the radio studio live to air.

Assessment by one news bulletin (10%); one live magazine program (40%); one promotion (20%); attendance and participation (20%); one off-campus assignment (10%).
