Physical Education Foundations

This subject provides an overview of physical education. Components studied include elements of exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, sport education and psycho-social aspects of sport. Students will explore how these disciplines provide the foundation for developing physical education programs.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to explain the theoretical foundation of physical education;
  2. to understand and explain the role of physical education in schools;
  3. to understand basic concepts of exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, sport education and psycho-social aspects of sport.

Assessment by laboratory projects (40%); examination (60%).
