Immersion French

Prerequisites: 6 units of FR subjects or equivalent
30 hours workshops. November/December intensive mode.
Staff: Dr C Mann.
Two weeks French immersion in New Caledonia: formal linguistic instruction, excursions and field trips, home-stay accommodation.
Learning Objectives:
- to improve French language skills;
- to give insights into francophone culture(s);
- to increase awareness of the political and social situation in New Caledonia.
On return to Australia, assessment of oral skills by interview and role-play (50%); assessment of cultural awareness by an assignment in English (25%); assessment of written skills by a short essay in French (25%).
