Minor Project and Seminar

Prerequisites: Admission to postgraduate program
Inadmissable Subject Combination: TG5904

First and second semester.

Available to Master of Science (Qualifying) (Tropical Environment Management) students.

Staff: Dr E Gyuris.

An independent research investigation or applied project in a selected area of Tropical Environment Management. Project selection will be completed at the start of the course and must be approved by the Course Coordinator. Students may wish to develop projects which would function as a pilot study for the independent project they are to complete for the research component of their Masters degree. Students will be required to present a proposal and a small literature review prior to the commencement of the execution of their project. After the completion of the project students are required to present a seminar to other students and members of the School and to submit a written project report in the form of a scientific paper or a brief technical report, depending on the nature of the project. Both the oral and written reports should include a critical appraisal of the objectives, methodology, results and future directions of the project.

Assessment by project report and seminar (100%).
