Current Approaches in Adult Education and Training

This subject examines the significant changes in the Australian training system in the last decade, and critically analyses the social, political economic and educational impact of these reforms. The changes examined will include the convergence of general and vocational education, competency based training, industry initiatives in training and the influence of the market place on community education.

Learning Objectives:

  1. identify and describe the range of reforms over the last decade;
  2. analyse critically the impact of the reforms on your own workplace.

Assessment by 2,000 word (or equivalent) discussion (40%); 3,000 word (or equivalent) critical review (60%)
