The role of business information systems in an organisation; the use of technology in business information systems; techniques used for problem solving and computer programming by end-users.
Learning Objectives:
- describe the information need within an organisation;
- identify, and discuss the relationships between the various types of information systems;
- describe the components of information systems;
- describe the steps in developing an information system;
- demonstrate their ability to solve problems using end-user systems development tools.
