The built environment. Energy economics. Heating. Ventilation. Air conditioning design and installation. Condensation in buildings. Vertical transport lifts and escalators. Plant and service areas. Plumbing and drainage according to AS3500.
Learning Objectives:
- understand and perform the essential design of air conditioning systems;
- carry out economic assessment of thermal insulation of buildings and services;
- critically evaluate building services equipment;
- understand recent advances in building services engineering;
- understand basic principles in plumbing and drainage design.
Assessment by examination (50%-70%); on-course assessment (30%-50%).
