Site planning and control. Construction method assessment. Selection of plant and equipment. Buildability. Documentation and specifications for multistorey work. Construction techniques and plant specific to civil engineering projects.
Learning Objectives:
- to provide the knowledge of site processes and the movement of materials and equipment required by construction managers to write method statements and to select plant and equipment;
- to provide an understanding of the design and documentation operations involved in the project life cycle;
- to build on the understanding of the technical processes gained in CM1002.
Assessment by examination (50%-70%); on-course assessment (30%-50%).
