Advanced Inorganic Chemistry

Integrated lectures and library assignments on selected inorganic topics largely connected to research currently underway within the School.
Learning Objectives:
- to provide students with a knowledge of selected areas of modern inorganic chemistry research;
- to provide students with an introduction to practical aspects of chemical research by means of an advanced laboratory research project;
- to provide an introduction to research for students proceeding to Honours or postgraduate research courses;
- to provide insight into the philosophical basis of science as expressed through inorganic chemistry.
Assessment by two 2000-3000 word assignments (50%); 50 hour laboratory research project (50%).
