This subject explores contemporary issues in employee relations. Topics include: employee relations legislation, the management of employee relations, trade unions, dispute resolution, the role of governments and strategic approaches to employee relations management.
Learning Objectives:
- critical appreciation of the theories, concepts, methods and empirical knowledge used in contemporary employee relations.
Assessment by group presentation/project (20%); individual project (5,000 words)(40%); three-hour examination or 3,000 word essay (40%).
