Entrepreneurship

(Odd-years Townsville campus; even-years Cairns campus) 40 lectures. First semester.

This subject explores the motivation, strategies, concerns and behaviour of entrepreneurship in all organisations, both small and large. Students learn the techniques for generating creative opportunities, how to investigate opportunities and how to prepare and present effective business plans to financiers and other decision makers.

Learning Objectives:

  1. critical appreciation of the theories, concepts, methods and empirical knowledge used in entrepreneurship.

Assessment by group presentation/project (20%); individual project (5,000 words)(40%); three-hour examination or 3,000 word essay (40%).
